Domakonda Fort is a heritage site which needs to be safeguarded.  The Moat around the Fort, the Fort Walls and the Mahadev Temple within the Fort have been declared as Protected Monuments by the State Archaeology Department.

DFVDT has taken measures to safeguard the Moat, for which about 1.5 Km of fencing has been installed. Conservation of the Fort Walls was taken up and completed by the Trustees in their individual capacities before the formation of the Trust, and the Fort Wall maintenance is now being done by DFVDT.

At a central place in Domakonda village, a ‘BURUJU’ or small bastion was constructed over two hundred years ago for the village folk to gather and discuss various matters.

The BURUJU has been restored by DFVDT and each year on Dussehra day, the Indian flag is hoisted there.

The Heritage initiative focuses on restoring and conserving works of Art and sites of historical significance to preserve and promote the rich cultural identity. This Initiative encompasses a range of efforts, including the protection of heritage sites in and around Domakonda, ensuring their legacy is safeguarded for future generations.
