Accessing good health is a right of communities and not a privilege.
With this as the basis, DFVDT promoted a unique system after discussing with the District Administration, wherein retired employees of Education and Health departments of the government were requested to provide voluntary services to guide the people who visit government hospitals to access services.
These retired volunteers have been recognized by the District Administration and acknowledged for their services in strengthening the health services in government health centers.
Apart from this, DFVDT has identified vulnerable old aged persons who have been neglected by their family and don’t have social security support from government.
They have started receiving free health services and undergo check-ups and get medicines on the 18th of each month.
This has been initiated in the year 2017 and is still continuing.
We have observed some positive attitudinal changes among families, with some families now taking care of their aged.
